"While educators and scholars may not share the same cultures, it is essential that educators become culturally aware, responsive, and accepting." Leading by example is the most powerful tool educators have, so they must lead the way in the creation of a Culturally Responsive School and Self/Other Acceptance. While working on the achievement gap, opportunity gap, digital gap, etc., we must acknowledge and build a bridge between educators and scholars to close the cultural gap.
"The development of self and other acceptance among all cultural groups, which will reduce/eliminate transfer aggression felt by minority cultures toward dominant cultures through mutual respect and acceptance." We must heal old wounds and come together in peace. Focusing on our scholars' developing worldview is important and can lead to transformative change for society.
Culturally Responsive School (School Community Focus)
"The ability to learn from and relate with people of your own culture, as well as those from other cultures, in a climate of mutual respect and acceptance." We strive to develop and sustain a culturally responsive school climate among scholars, parents, and staff. We are better together!
